EPSA [31]-5 (=[31]-12)

This is discussed in Chapter 7, along with Japanese EPSA Experiments. It is one of the two Main-Experiments in English discussed in the CUP book. The other Main-Experiment in English is [31]-4 (=[31]-11), which is discussed in Chapter 6, more extensively than EPSA [31]-5 (= [31]-12). As in the case of EPSA [31]-4 (=[31]-11), there are three SGs, but SG3 is not discussed in the CUP book and the result charts below exclude SG3. But, the results on SG3 are included in the "Raw Data" files given below. LG1: BVA(at least one boy, his); LG2: BVA(only John, his)

Results

What is provided below is the results of [31]-5 (=[31]-12) analogous to that provided for [31]-4 (=[31]-11).

[31]-5 Lexical-group-based

Informant list for [31]-5:
based on: [31]-1, every; & based on: [31]-1, no

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-1, only considering Lexical groups 1 and 2 (BVA(every boy, his) and BVA(no boy, his)).

[31]-5 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

Informant list for [31]-5:
based on: [31]-1, every; &
based on: [31]-1, no; &
based on: [31]-1, at least one

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-1, considering Lexical groups 1, 2, and 3 (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), and BVA(at least one boy, his)).

[31]-5 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

[31]-12 Lexical-group-based

Informant list for [31]-12:
based on: [31]-8, every; &
based on: [31]-8, no; &
based on: [31]-8, at least one

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-8, considering separately Lexical groups 1, 2, and 3 (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), and BVA(at least one boy, his)).

[31]-12 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

Informant list for [31]-12:
based on: [31]-8, every; &
based on: [31]-8, no; &
based on: [31]-8, at least one; &
based on: [31]-1, every; &
based on: [31]-1, no; &
based on: [31]-1, at least one

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-8, considering separately Lexical groups 1, 2, and 3 (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), and BVA(at least one boy, his)), and also based on the result of [31]-1, considering separately Lexical groups 1, 2, and 3 (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), and BVA(at least one boy, his)).

[31]-12 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

Informant list for [31]-12:
based on: [31]-8, every; &
based on: [31]-8, no; &
based on: [31]-8, at least one; &
based on: [31]-1, every; &
based on: [31]-1, no; &
based on: [31]-1, at least one; &
based on: [31]-8, only John

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-8, considering separately all the Lexical groups (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), BVA(at least one boy, his). and BVA(only John, his)), and also based on the result of [31]-1, considering separately Lexical groups 1, 2, and 3 (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), and BVA(at least one boy, his)).

[31]-12 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

Informant list for [31]-12:
based on: [31]-8, every; &
based on: [31]-8, no; &
based on: [31]-8, at least one; &
based on: [31]-1, every; &
based on: [31]-1, no; &
based on: [31]-1, at least one; &
based on: [31]-8, only John; &
based on: [31]-1, only John

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-8, considering separately all the Lexical groups (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), BVA(at least one boy, his). and BVA(only John, his)), and also based on the result of [31]-1, considering all the Lexical groups (BVA(every boy, his), BVA(no boy, his), BVA(at least one boy, his), and BVA(only John, his)).

[31]-12 Lexical-group-based, based on the above informant list

Informant list for [31]-12:
based on: [31]-8, at least one; &
based on: [31]-1, at least one

This means that the informant classification here is based on the result of [31]-8, considering only Lexical group 3 (BVA(at least one boy, his)), and also based on the result of [31]-1, only Lexical group 3 (BVA(at least one boy, his)).
